What do FedEx, Hilton, and Disney have in common? They have all hired Lisa's guest on this episode to improve their internal employee engagement efforts...but how? And what does this mean?

Listen in to find out!

Lisa's guest on this episode is Sara Roberts, President & CEO of Roberts Golden Consulting, a consultancy based in San Francisco, CA. Her company provides change management and employee engagement solutions for a wide variety of Fortune 500 companies. These companies are typically undergoing large-scale change efforts such as corporate re-branding, business turn-arounds, mergers and process improvement initiatives. Sara and her team have led these efforts for companies including Disney, McKesson, Cisco Systems, Hilton Hotels, FedEx and Safeway.

Sara is also the co-author of the best-selling book, "Light Their Fire: Using Internal Marketing to Ignite Employee Performance and Wow Your Customers", and has been quoted in numerous publications including BusinessWeek, Inc. Magazine and Forbes

Here's just a sample of what Lisa asks Sara in this interesting (and entertaining) interview:

1.) Tell me about your book, "Light Their Fire" - what was the inspiration behind that? What message were you trying to convey to your readers?

2.) In your book you refer to a term called the “E” employee. What is this “E” factor and how do you create an “E” environment within a company?

3.) Tell me about a client experience where they were successful at using internal marketing to engage their employees. What results did you see?

4.) When working with clients, what have you found to be the primary reason why employee engagement and internal marketing get thrown to the back burner?

5.) Do you feel it’s more important for organizations to put their efforts towards external marketing or internal marketing, or both?
